Neuro VIZR & Expanded Female Orgasm – A Deeper Look

The Basic Message

Expanded Female Orgasm appears to be a complex multi-modal event combining aspects of attention-related brain engagement and trance/ASC-related brain entrainment. High levels of neuroplasticity are required to permit the feedback looping processes of excitement and disinhibition.


Introduction

The first article entitled Neuro VIZR & Expanded Female Orgasm presented an intriguing proposition in which the Light/Sound Neuro VIZR Experience could be used to support and enable women to attain ESR/EO experiences because of a shared physiological response dynamic here known as Cross-Reference and Cross-Reinforcement (CR/CR).

This article will take a deeper look into the subject and consider certain elements not presented in the first article.


Altered States of Consciousness (ASC) & Rhythm

In the broadest sense, we can categorize subjective human consciousness into two basic categories: Common Consciousness and Altered States of Consciousness (ASC).

For our purposes here, ASC can be defined as unique conditions in subjective consciousness that combine numerous and varied moods, sensations, and perceptions, providing the person with an uncommon perspective of reality.

Experiences involving Expanded Sexual Response (ESR) and Expanded Orgasm (EO) are generally accepted as belonging to the ASC category.

Interestingly, one of the elements involved in ESR/EO ASC experiences is the condition of rhythm.

Inducing an ASC through repetition, resonance, and rhythm appears to help recruit various separate functions into joining a cooperative union of expression. This is certainly true of common orgasm and, even more importantly, in ESR/EO experiences.


Orgasm Is a “Brain Event”

Although human genitals are “down there,” physiologically, like all sensation and consciousness, orgasm actually takes place in the brain.

For example, neural structures in the hypothalamus, brainstem, and spinal nuclei are involved in controlling the glandular and smooth muscles associated with orgasm.

The human brain is particularly sensitive to rhythmic stimulation, as is most evident in the transcultural expressions found in music and dance.

The human sexual experience involves multiple rhythms that have complex patterns and maintain a blend of regular reinforcement, sustained attentional focus, flexible combination, and dynamic novelty.

It is this “complex pattern” that may hold some of the secrets of ESR/EO experiences in women.


Attention May Be the “Secret Sauce” of the Expanded Female Orgasm

Potent sexual stimulation is a powerful “magnet” of conscious attention. It does not demand focus but rather creates it.

There is something very special about “attention without tension.” It is actually the main trigger for any adaptive change in the brain.

The “secret sauce” of ESR/EO may, in fact, be the same “main ingredient” required in neuroplastic change in the brain.

This may point to the principle skill developed in women capable of the ESR/EO experiences. They may be able to maintain both brain engagement and brain entrainment.

They may be able to stay completely in the “here and now” of sustained focused attention while also surrendering to trance-like rhythms of abandonment.

Consequently, over time, the periodic short-term “states” of ESR/EO may evolve into long-term learned “traits.”


Neural Synchrony – The Orchestra of Sensation

Getting the brain to “sing along” with the body as a whole is neural synchrony.

Resonance in the cortical structures is expected to enhance perceptual vividness as well as emotional intensity. Enhanced synchronous activity, both within certain systems and between parallel systems, is thought to promote increased intensity while also helping to sustain the experience.

This relates to the principle of Cross-Reference and Cross-Reinforcement discussed in the first article on the topic.

There are three proposed mechanisms:

  • Enhanced summation of excitatory neural activity;
  • Increased attention via integration of mutually informing data streams;
  • Maximal driving of neural systems for reward and somatic response.

Neural synchrony likely promotes enhanced coordination between different kinds of information.

Normally separate sensory streams such as sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell may unexpectedly converge, producing the familiar experience of the “whole being greater than the sum of its parts.”

In neurology, getting independent information streams to interrelate is known as the binding problem.

The ESR/EO experience may, in effect, solve the binding problem through the unification of brain engagement and brain entrainment—of “attention without tension” and “sweet surrender and abandon.”

It is highly likely that somatic sexual rhythms develop whole-body resonance, resulting in the synchronous entrainment of electrical brainwave oscillations.

As in other forms of neural excitation, these brainwaves may congregate as expressions of internal lights, colors, and geometric patterns, while the parallel ASC manifests in powerful subjective states of rapture, bliss, and egoless pleasure.


Engage & Entrain – The Power of Mix & Match

When rhythmic stimulation maintains regularity, the trance power of entrainment captures and coaxes the brain into dance.

However, if the stimulation becomes too predictable and repetitive, it can lead to desensitization. The brain can become “bored” and, instead of slipping into waves of surrender, fascination is lost and attention begins to drift away.

This habituation flattens the peaks and valleys that might otherwise build into cascades and crescendos.

The novelty and surprise of engagement-type stimulation acts to refresh attention and propel the brain into new discovery and progressive adaptation.

Rhythms can still be maintained, but they are now influenced by degrees of complexity. Levels of “marginal demand” conjure up deeper responses and help unfold and disassemble the regularity of old, limited habits.

What emerges through the complementary interactions of brain engagement and brain entrainment is a rich, higher-level “multi-modal” concert of brain oscillations.

Multiple neural, neurotransmitter, and hormonal channels of stimulation begin to resonate like the individual musical instruments in an orchestra, resulting in a unified symphony of sensations and consciousness.


A Positive Feedback Loop

In complex systems like the human organism, experience is managed to a great degree by information being shared within numerous simultaneous processes. In general, these sharing processes are known as feedback loops.

There are two basic types of feedback loops: positive feedback and negative feedback. Despite their names, they are both “good” and serve important roles in life experiences.

Positive feedback provides the message of “YES, more please.” Negative feedback provides the message of “NO, less please.”

ESR/EO experiences rely heavily on the “YES, more please” dynamic of positive feedback. However, the “NO, less please” function of negative feedback can also work to maintain direction and shape the overall waves of sensation.

The human brain actually contains more inhibitory neurons than excitatory neurons. In a way, this echoes Aldous Huxley’s metaphor of the brain as a collection of “reducing valves” that trim and filter the massive waves of stimulation constantly washing over us.

An example of a positive feedback loop is the circular relationship between attention and pleasure.

When something feels good, it becomes easier to give it your attention. The more you attend to the sexual experience, the better the experience may feel. The better it feels, the more you attend to it.

This is a “bi-directional and mutually reinforcing relationship” and provides an example of a positive feedback loop.

Technically, giving attention to oscillating stimuli produces enhanced neural activity at corresponding frequencies.

This type of reinforcing relationship has also been studied in other facets of human experience. The article proposes that this dynamic may be a fundamental feature of an archaic system of communication shared by living organisms, relating to the concepts of First Language and “organic codes” discussed in the first article.

A similar bi-directional relationship between pleasure and brainwave oscillations can be found, for example, in music perception.

This feedback loop—in which attention and pleasure continually enhance the quality of experience—may propel a woman into an ever-deepening sexual absorption.

The spiraling and compounding of sensation can lead into phases of qualitatively different experiential dynamics, moving beyond common experience and into Altered States of Consciousness (ASC).

The synchrony-facilitated state of sensory absorption draws the individual into uncommon states of consciousness and sustained waves of pleasurable sensory reward.

The brain shifts away from its common filtering patterns and attempts to adjust to these tides of experience. It accepts altered representations while being rewarded with sustained pleasure and novel perceptions.

Enhanced processing of some representations can come at the expense of reduced cognitive resources being available to others.

Think of a spotlight that shines an intense light on one focused area while leaving the areas at either side in the dark.

Certainly, intense sexual sensations can easily reduce the resources available to areas of the mind that may otherwise be involved in overthinking and compulsive rumination.


Neuroplasticity & Disinhibition

For the spiraling processes of attention, pleasure, synchrony, and positive feedback to continue developing, the brain must remain sufficiently flexible to adapt to the changing experience.

Neuroplasticity provides the capacity for neural systems to change their patterns of activity, develop new relationships, and respond to novel demands. In the context of ESR/EO, this flexibility may be important in allowing the experience to move beyond familiar and habitual limits.

The experience may involve a gradual reduction in certain inhibitory processes while, at the same time, maintaining enough organization for attention and sensation to remain integrated.

This does not mean that all inhibition disappears. Rather, some of the normal filters and constraints that maintain ordinary patterns of consciousness may become temporarily relaxed.

As these constraints are reduced, new relationships between sensation, attention, emotion, memory, and bodily experience may become possible.

The result can be an expanding cycle in which heightened sensation attracts greater attention, greater attention increases neural engagement, and increased engagement further intensifies the subjective experience.

This is where the interaction between brain engagement and brain entrainment becomes particularly important.


The Dynamic Between Engagement & Entrainment

Brain entrainment provides rhythm, repetition, and the capacity to draw neural activity toward a more coordinated state.

Brain engagement provides novelty, complexity, surprise, and marginal demand. These elements help maintain attention and prevent the experience from becoming overly predictable.

Neither process alone may be sufficient to create the rich and evolving experience described in ESR/EO.

Too much regularity may eventually lead to habituation and desensitization. The brain may become familiar with the stimulation and begin to reduce its response.

Too much novelty or complexity, on the other hand, may make it difficult to sustain attention or develop the rhythmic continuity associated with trance and absorption.

The proposed value lies in the interaction between the two.

Rhythm provides a foundation for surrender and entrainment, while changing patterns introduce enough novelty to continually refresh attention.

This combination may allow the experience to develop through repeated cycles of familiarity and surprise, stability and instability, engagement and surrender.


Cross-Reference & Cross-Reinforcement

The relationship between multiple sensory, emotional, attentional, and physiological systems can create a process of Cross-Reference and Cross-Reinforcement.

Different systems may continuously inform one another. A change in one area can influence another, which can then feed information back into the original system.

For example, increased bodily sensation may attract greater attention. Increased attention may enhance the perception of sensation. The enhanced sensation may then produce greater pleasure, which further strengthens attention.

This creates a circular and mutually reinforcing process rather than a simple linear chain of events.

As additional sensory and physiological systems become involved, the feedback loops may become increasingly complex.

The experience can therefore develop into a multi-modal event in which numerous systems contribute simultaneously to the overall state of consciousness.


The NeuroVIZR & Expanded Sexual Response

The NeuroVIZR Light/Sound Experience is considered within this framework as a potential complementary source of rhythmic entrainment and novel sensory engagement.

Its changing patterns of light and sound may provide another stream of sensory information capable of participating in the larger Cross-Reference and Cross-Reinforcement dynamic.

Rhythmic elements may support the development of entrainment, while variations, complexity, and novelty may help maintain attention and reduce habituation.

The objective is not necessarily to create a specific experience directly. Rather, the Light/Sound experience may provide additional sensory conditions that can interact with attention, rhythm, pleasure, and other physiological processes already involved in the experience.

In this interpretation, the NeuroVIZR becomes part of a larger multi-modal system.

The individual remains at the center of the experience, while Light/Sound Brain Engagement may contribute another layer of sensory stimulation capable of supporting the evolving interaction between engagement and entrainment.


A Deeper Look

The concept of Expanded Sexual Response and Expanded Orgasm suggests that human experience can move beyond a simple linear progression toward orgasm.

Instead, the experience may involve complex interactions between attention, rhythm, sensory absorption, neural synchrony, positive feedback, neuroplasticity, and temporary changes in ordinary patterns of consciousness.

The ability to sustain attention without tension while simultaneously allowing surrender and entrainment may represent one of the important dynamics involved.

As attention and pleasure reinforce one another, and as different sensory and physiological systems become increasingly synchronized, the experience may develop into a more immersive and expansive Altered State of Consciousness.

Within this framework, the NeuroVIZR Light/Sound Experience represents a potential additional pathway for supporting the interaction between rhythmic entrainment and novel brain engagement.

The broader idea is that by combining rhythm, attention, novelty, sensory engagement, and the brain’s natural capacity for adaptation, it may be possible to explore richer and more flexible forms of human experience.
